Spartan

Born in BC in the 1930s. Crisp, juicy, lightly sweet, and very aromatic. A great blender apple for fresh, clean, fruit-driven ciders.

Cidermaker Notes: This variety was the “bread and butter” for my inlaws growing apples in the 80’s and 90’s, however now have fallen largely out of favour in the market without much a place to sell them. They add volume and a soft base to layer other fruits and botanicals over.
