Cortland
Developed in New York in 1898. Juicy, crisp, lightly tart, and slow to oxidize. Works well as a balancing apple in blends needing freshness and volume.
Cidermaker Notes: We have one Cortland tree on our farm which has been there longer than most other trees. This is our Wassail tree that we bless and sing to each winter, hanging toast for the robins and pouring cider around the roots.
